Kosas Concealer review

I love this Kosas concealer. I’ve got it in my own personal make-up bag and think will get some more for my kit.

2023 UPDATE – I bought a good selection of colours for my kit and love them – they’ve definitely become staples.

I love the creamy texture, it doesn’t sit on my skin like some concealers do – it becomes part of my skin so looks super natural. It feels hydrating and doesn’t cake (make sure you moisturise skin well beforehand to help with application for any make-up.) The Kosas concealer has lovely skin friendly ingredients like hyaluronic acid and squalane, which really helps with how it works on the skin, so it is almost like an extension of your skincare. I feel it would be great for all skin types – more oily prone might need to powder to stop it slipping.

The coverage is great and you can build it where you need more – ‘pat’ it into skin to build layers rather than rubbing. I like the finish too – a healthy natural skin finish as opposed to anything too shiny or anything too matt. I feel it brightens skin but you could use anywhere – under the eyes but also on a blemish (some concealers can be too light reflective for a spot). I use it on its own for relaxed days but also teamed with a foundation when I want more coverage everywhere.

I like the wand applicator and then use fingers to work it into the skin (with my kit I put the product onto a palette rather than using the wand straight onto skin.) I’ve used with a brush too and it worked well.

The longevity is great, I don’t find it creases much under eyes either which is a big plus for a concealer – obviously all eyes are different, if you find you get a lot of creasing in general, a dusting of powder can really help to set.

There are 28 colours which is fantastic. It can be a little tricky buying online. I got my first one wrong – I went slightly too yellow but it should be fine in summer.

TOP TIP if you do buy the wrong colour don’t think you can’t use it. There are ways you can mix and still use it – I did a little IGTV on it here. Mix it with a foundation or another concealer so that it doesn’t go to waste.

I could have just stayed with the 3.5 and made it work but I wanted to try it on its own without mixing so I got the true feel of the product; I recently bought the 2.5 and it’s the perfect colour for me. You can of course use lighter and darker ones for contour and highlighting. Content Beauty do an online service where they can go through all of the colours if you’d like to see swatches.

Here I’m using 2.5 in the Kosas concealer –

In terms of value – I feel like it will last a long time as you get a lot in the tube.
