I’ve been embracing a bit of a brighter lip these last couple of weeks. My complexion is feeling tired, my eyes are are full of hay fever, so colour on lips is a really nice way to brighten everything up.
I’d love to wear a bright red as I love it when I see women wearing one. However a pink is more for me, as I feel it’s fresher and a bit more relaxed. Pinks can look amazing on any complexion and are perfect for summer.
Here are a few of my favourite pink lipsticks and gloss –
1. Ere Perez Lip gloss
If you’d like to try a bright colour then a gloss is such an easy way to add something without feeling ‘done’. Then as you feel more comfortable, you can add more intensity with your colour. I’ve been wearing Ere Perez’s Honey Lip Honey in Crush – it’s described as a purple but I think it’s quite pinky on. They also have a lighter pink called Pop.
2. Absolution #19 Lipstick
One of my favourite pinks is Rose Franc #19 by Absolution, this is a staple in my kit. I love this range for their bright bold colour but also for their matt finish. The pink is a bright fuchsia. It can be worn of course bold, but also as a stain. Apply it with fingers for a relaxed finish and blot away until you’re happy with the colour. I did a little IGTV showing how I wear this colour along with other tips for wearing a bright lip.
3. Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon
I’ve always been a fan of the Burt’s Bees pencils as they are nice and easy to use. The chubby pencil is really great for application. This pink is Hawiian Smoulder and suits so many people, I’ve got a review here if you fancy a read. I find it brightens the face but is still gentle and not overpowering at all.
Ilia has a great pink in their Color Block range called Knockout, it’s very vibrant so will help you make a statement. Of course it can always be worn softer. I’m a big fan of these lipsticks and would love more in my kit!
5. Hiro Liquid Lip Paint
I love these paints by Hiro Cosmetics – the bright pink is called Render and can be worn as a stain or a bold bright lip. They work really well as eyeshadows too!
Do you wear pink? What is your favourite pink lipstick?
I'm thinking of doing a seasonal newsletter - no spam I promise!
