Lavera Eyeshadow Quad in Cappuccino Cream..

I’ve been wearing a lot more eyeshadow these days; ever since I decided it helped make my eyes look wider and brighter, I’ve been packing it on!! 😉 I’ve obviously always had eyeshadow in my professional kit but it’s interesting having a play around for myself.

The Lavera Beautiful Mineral Eyeshadow quad in Cappuccino Cream had actually been sitting in my tester tray for a long time, before I grabbed in one morning on the way out after deciding I needed to put something on!

It’s funny, I put it on and just forgot about it, and then later in the day when I looked in the mirror, it was a little surprise but I liked what I saw!! I had done a soft smokey eye with the lighter colour all over my lid, and then worked the darker two into my socket line and outer corners.

I like the colours because they are more neutral greyer browns, as opposed to red tones which can be harder to wear sometimes, especially if you have tired eyes. There is a shimmer but not too much. Interestingly I tried wearing the same palette over an eyeshadow primer on a later date but didn’t like it; it made the lighter colour too shimmery and quite yellowy gold, which doesn’t suit me. With regards to the primer, the eyeshadow actually has good durability without one – still trying to find the Holy Grail of natural eye primer anyway… I wore the shadow yesterday, applying it probably around 7am over a first layer of Ilia’s translucent powder. When I looked in the mirror later that day around 7pm it was still there – not perfect granted, there were a few creases. However with no touch up at all, it wasn’t bad, the lighter colour was still brightening my lid and the definition and shape from the darker colours was still there. As was my RMS cake liner and Inika mascara 🙂

I’ve got a little video in my Instagram if you fancy taking a look.. can’t quite work out how to post it on here properly yet.. technology not my strong point!! Anyway, it’s safe to say I like it and it’s a winner in my make-up bag. Lavera are always a great price point too, this quad is around £14.

Does anyone else use it? What are your favourite eyeshadows?
