December is fast approaching which equals a month of festivities and social events. A lot of the time this can mean going straight from work to the party, this can be time restrictive when it comes to getting glammed up. A smokey eye is such an easy way to change your make-up look from day to night, and it doesn’t have to involve loads of products. A soft eyeliner pencil can do most of the work for you. Simply trace it along your top and bottom lashes and then smudge. Depending on how intense you would like your look to be, colour in your eyelid as well smudging any hard edges and blending into and along your socket line – don’t take your colour too high. By using a pencil you get a strong colour quickly, and it doesn’t have to be neat as you are going to smudge it anyway. You can set the pencil with an eyeshadow powder, I quite like it if it creases though as it can give it a more relaxed, lived in look. Here is a little tutorial that I did a while back..
Remember smokey eyes do not have to be black – try a charcoal grey, deep blue or purple for a different feel. Inika’s eyeliner pencils are amazing for this. I love their Graphite, Sapphire and Purple Minx colours. The graphite has a sheen but the sapphire and purple are a nice matt – if you like a shimmer or a sparkle you could always add this on top of the pencil.
The pencils are soft and creamy so easy to draw on and to blend, but they also have good staying power.
They are are certified organic and they are vegan.
Have you tried them yet? What pencils do you like?
