I love working with the gorgeous Birdy. Last week she performed her new single on the ITV show ‘The Brits Are Coming’ and I had the pleasure of doing her make-up.
Birdy has the most lovely alabaster skin which doesn’t require much work I must admit. I prep her skin by giving a gentle cleanse and moisturise. Weleda’s Iris range suits her skin really nicely and gives a great base for make-up. For her base I used a combination of Aveda’s tinted moisturiser and the lightest RMS ‘Un’ Cover Up. For her cheeks I used Liz Earle’s cream blusher in Rose (I know they’re not the cleanest but I like them).
On Birdy’s eyes I used Pacifica’s eyeliner gel in Anchor as a base all over the lid, it’s a bronzy brown colour, I then set that with a eyeshadow of a similar colour. The flick of liner is a combination of brown and black so that the line wasn’t too harsh. I used Marks and Spencer’s Autograph range gel liner, this is not natural but is a staple in my kit, I know that it will stay put on the red carpet and during a performance. We put some glitter in the inner corners of Birdy’s eyes for a little sparkle.
For her first look we did more a deep red lip which is a mixture from my pallette and I can’t remember what they are which is a bit rubbish I know. For her performance we made it a bit brighter to work with her amazing red kimono. The colour on Birdy’s nails is from Beauty Without Cruelty.
Hope you like it!
