The party month is in full swing now, I hope you’re all having fun! I thought I’d ask some of my make-up artist friends their top beauty tips and favourite products to help you look your very best this festive season.
It all begins with your skincare says Annabel Callum.
“Before your party why not treat yourself to a mini facial at home. Massage Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm onto your skin and use a hot cloth to take it off. Don’t forget to splash your face with cold water to revive and close pores. Get ready to glow!”
Once your skin is glowing, follow Nat Van Zee’s guide to make you the belle of the ball.
“Metallic is a big trend this season, try applying Inika’s mineral pigment eyeshadow in Gunmetal with a wet brush for a gorgeous silver look.
For classic glamour wear a red lipstick like Strike It Up by Ilia. For extra bright colour neutralise your lips first with a light concealer. Use Taupe by 100% Pure to contour, frame your eyes and fill in your brows.”
“The key to long lasting lip colour is layering and an old school method. Apply a coat of lipstick then hold a single ply piece of tissue to your lips and pat loose powder over the top with a powder puff. Remove the sheet of tissue and reapply the lip colour, repeating if necessary. Da-da! Long lasting lip colour.
My ultimate party tip for all night colour? Drink through a straw!”
“It’s so rare to find matte and long lasting lip colours that are so packed with pigments. Very modern. I also love the new Italian brand Puro-Bio. The King-size Duo Pencils are great to take your look from work to party. They are double-ended and multi-functional for eyes and lips, I use them on my cheeks too!”
If a glossy finish is more your thing, take a tip from Angela Davis-Deacon who says,
“I love Dr Lipp for the glossiest lips and lids that’s super long wearing. Perfect for parties and completely natural!”
Don’t forget nails to complete your look. Linda loves the limited edition glitter nail varnishes from Kure Bazaar.
“I layer them over other colours for full effect!”
A BIG thank you to the guys for their expertise, I hope they’ve given you some inspiration. For more ideas follow the links on their names to great You Tube videos, blogs, Instagrams and an organic beauty shop – clever people!!
