Get the look – metallic beauty

Gold Beauty

Everyone wants a bit of sparkle this time of year and you can’t beat a metallic eye to indulge your glamorous side. Golds and silvers are so easy to wear and can be worn bold or with just a glint.

Gold is in general a universally flattering colour. Go for warmer bronzy tones for a failsafe option to lift, brighten and enhance. Sweep it all over the lid, blending it into the socket line, take it onto the inner corners as well to really brighten eyes. To add definition work a dark brown eyeshadow into the socket line and then smudge into the top and bottom lashes too. Finish with lots of black mascara on curled lashes. Yellow golds can look bright and bold but they are not flattering for everyone, so make sure your chosen gold is doing you justice.

Gold is great used as a highlighter along the cheekbones – just blend well, you don’t want a line of colour. Try it on the cupids bow too, it’s also amazing mixed into a clear lip gloss and worn over a red or pink lipstick.

Silver is perfect for the party season too. Wear a wash of colour over the lids with lashings of mascara, or team with a bold flick of black liner. If using a pigment experiment using it wet and dry for different looks. Another of my favourite ways is to do a silver smokey eye. Grab a black kohl and smudge it into the top and bottom lashes, keep applying and smudging until you have your desired intensity then apply a silver pigment onto the middle of your lids. For extra sparkle press some silver glitter over the top. It doesn’t matter if it drops a little bit, a bit of sparkle catching light on the face is nice!
